  "hide" an event

Hi,i have a function that counts the elements of my form. I need to run this function first thing when the page is loaded.

I have added the function to a button and it works fine, but when i just add the script to be run when the page is loaded, no trigger event, then it gives me 0 as the form elements (not the real number).

Do you know if i can hide an event so it can trigger the function when the page is loaded?
