  rand() vs. mt_rand() on PHP

Hi guys,
Im new to all the PHP language and I read something about this 2 functions that return a random number. Can you give me a little idea about what can I use them for or a little explanation about them?

:lol: looks like u are looking for a problem and an answer!!
regarding the topic : the difference is that the mt_rand() uses the Mersenne Twister algorithm, so it returns a bigger, some might say better, random numbers, but u choose.
what can u use those functions for??? whatever! i've never use them. maybe when u'll have a real problem u'll figure out what these functions are for, meanwhile relax!
