  Different alignments inside one single table

Hey,
I have a question about HTML tables. You know that regularly the text its aligned in the middle.

Is there a chance to change this default so the text touches the top of the cell in some cases?

And after that, is it possible to make other cells, on the same table, to be aligned with the bottom line?

Thank you ppl.

<style type="text/css">
.upper{vertical-align: top}
.middle{}
.down{vertical-align: bottom}
</style>

<table>
  <tr><td class="upper">eii</td></tr>
  <tr><td class="middle">eii</td></tr>
  <tr><td class="down">eii</td></tr>
</table>

The class ".middle" is empty 'cause the default is the middle alignment. You will need to add the specific class to each cell.
