How to use a transparent gif to avoid mouse' right click

Hi, I've heard that using a transparent image can help you to avoid right click and save as options, but how could I know how big the transparent image should be?

I mean, if I want to cover a 600x400 pic and also a 1024x768, should I have many different transparent images? That seems foolish for me, I know there should be something better but I cant figure it out yet.

Thanks for the help.

Just use a simple 1px transparent image. The thing will be to use width and height at 100% to make it stretch over all the protected object, ;)
