DHTML stands for Dynamic HTML.

HTML is an static language, DHTML allows interactivity with the user

And it doesn't mean that HTML is less, but it is an "ingredent" (along with JavaScript and CSS) to create the DHTML.

As you know HTML is a static language. DHTML mixes JavaScript, CSS and HTML to produce dynamic websites to enhance user expirience. Good luck!
