TUTORIALS » Before you build a website » Other things you should knowStop Windows from hiding file extensions
By default, Windows (from Win2K to Win7) hides the extensions of known file types. This makes it hard to properly create, rename and/or save text files with not-so-standard extensions, like .html, .css, .js, .php, and .sql.
In further tutorials you will be using most of these extensions, so this is a good time to change your Windows settings.
Done! You are ready to continue with our web development tutorials.
